October 19, 2017
Engagement Ring Trends fro 2018

While there are still a few months before the year is over, it’s never too early to start looking at the upcoming engagement ring trends that are sure to take the bridal world by storm. At PJD, we have been taking note of the upcoming bridal trends and picked out some of our favorite rings to share with you.

2018 Engagement Ring Trend #1: Oval Cut Center Stone

Tacori Dantela Engagement Ring (#2620OVMDP)

Ready to wow in the new year, oval cut diamonds provide a fascinating stone shape that is perfect for captivating young brides because with its big, bright, and bold appearance. A wonderful example of the vintage-inspired sophistication that an oval diamond can bring, is this engagement ring from the exquisite Dantela engagement ring collection by Tacori. Made of 18-karat white gold, this beauty brings a brilliant charm and – in addition to the piece’s immaculate oval-shaped focal stone – is adorned with pave placed round diamonds set in an awe-inspiring eternity side stone style.

If oval diamonds aren’t so much your style, another diamond shape that is starting to gain momentum in popularity are the always interesting pear shape, cushion cut, as well as confident radiant cut diamond engagement rings.

2018 Engagement Ring Trend #2: Twisted Precious Metal Bands

Simon G Classic Romance Engagement Ring (#MR2514)

Inspired by the sensual curves of nature, another hot bridal jewelry trend for 2018 is going to be the increased use of twisted metal bands in engagement ring construction. A perfect example of this delightfully distinctive look is the ring featured above from the Classic Romance collection by Simon G. Already known for creating unique pieces inspired by the world of high-fashion, the twisted bands of the Classic Romance collection are extremely on-trend and feature various metal combinations which include, yellow gold, white gold, and romantic rose gold varieties.

2018 Engagement Ring Trend #3: Nature Inspired Rings

Hearts on Fire Delight Lady Di Engagement Ring (HBRELD0508WAA-N)

Similar to the twisted band trend, its safe to say that fashion-forward bridal designers are absolutely in love with nature-inspired rings for the upcoming 2018 wedding season. Leading designers such as Gabriel New York (formally, Gabriel & Co.), Michael M, Rony Tenenbaum (pioneers of the “man-gagement” ring), and many others are finding their muse in the world just outside their doors.

No designer perhaps better exemplifies this connection to the world outside than Hearts on Fire, who have been making fantastic nature-inspired engagement rings for years now. Found in their wonderful Liliana, Destiny, HOF, and Delight collections (such as the ring pictured above) is a massive array of engagement rings that feature tons of magnificent floral, faunal, and aquatic-inspired pieces, along with a plethora of other stunning pieces adorned with “the world’s most perfectly cut diamonds”.
