La La Land Inspired Engagement Rings

April 10, 2017

The movie that has the world inspired to be an absolute hopeless romantic with excellent spontaneous dance skills has even had us pulling diamond engagement ring inspiration out of their magic hat. But of course, that film is La La Land. La La Land‘s lead Mia is portrayed by the elegant and lovable Emma Stone. Mia has a simple and sweet style to her that is pleasantly obtainable and we couldn’t help but try to find the perfect engagement ring that matches her clothing style and setting. Scroll down to see what we found.

This clip above is the part in La La Land that makes everyone really sad because SPOILER ALERT, Mia and Sebastian don’t exactly end up together. During Mia’s hindsight she imagines her and Sebastian being together forever and everything is colorful and pure and sugar plum fairies. To fuel her dream sequence of her and Sebastian living happily ever after, it is only fair that we suggest this hard-to-miss, and absolutely showstopping modern, art deco A. Jaffe engagement ring. It has a twisting band with pave settings on the side that meet circling the center stone. Because the film pulled inspiration from 1940s musicals, the ring matches perfectly with the music, setting, and costume design La La Land carries throughout. A. Jaffe, since 1892, has established a trusted reputation for delivering the most high-quality diamond fine engagement rings as well as other excellently crafted jewelry. This engagement ring is what everyone dreams about including Mia. We’re gonna go cry now.

Most of the characters in La La Land wore primary colors during dance numbers whether it was in a group or when it was just Mia and Sebastian. This particular scene in the beginning of the film before Mia met Sebastian in the night club. She is hanging out with her friends during the time she is still poor and aimlessly auditioning day in and day out. For hypothetical reasons, let’s say she and Sebastian were madly in love at this point and he proposed to her. A gorgeous contrasting color to her blue dress that is still in the primary color realm would be this perfect Tacori diamond engagement ring. It is made from 18-karat gold with prong details, a vintage inspired construction design with a pave setting, and a round diamond center stone. Here’s to the ones that dream, right? Check out more Tacori diamond engagement rings and their different collections.

Speaking of primary colors, here is Mia in a flowing gold dress and Sebastian during their famous dance scene after the house party when they distract each other instead of looking for their cars on a hilly street. The best diamond engagement ring match for this duo is this gorgeous Avigdor Pave engagement ring. Unlike stuff you normally see, this ring has got a pave setting of black diamonds on 14-karat black gold for the complementing and super different border around the center stone. It is made with 14-karat rose gold that adds an extra sweet glow from within and a vintage style with a prong setting. It is so uncommon to see these types of adventurous rings around since people play it safe mostly but what is life without a little adventure and dancing in the street?

This scene is where Mia ditches her boyfriend from back home (which was weird because there was no mention of this boyfriend when she was smooching Sebastian earlier) from a cringe worthy and pointless dinner and hangs out with her true love at the movie theater. They end up going to the dreamy Griffith Observatory. They dance, sing, drift away into the stars that looks like a pleasant acid trip. It happened in real life and everyone is jealous. An engagement ring that resembles those precious stars is the halo ring. Halo rings date back to the 1920s where the design is a center stone surrounded by smaller stones in a vintage or antique constructed design. The perfect ring in this scenario would be this mesmerizing and brilliant Simon G antique styled sapphire halo ring. Princess Diana is known for having a sapphire as her engagement ring center stone but this one has them off to the side giving a classic look an additional pop of primary color.
