LADIES OF ROCK

July 3, 2017

Being a woman in the world is kinda difficult because of society, and their rules of how women “should be”, and their judgement on how women should look. Its too much pressure when you think about it all at once, but do you know who doesn’t think about that and just “sticks it to the man”? THESE WOMEN IN ROCK! They each have their own individual and identifiable looks, have awesome songs, and sing their hearts out, setting an example of strong women.

Check out our list of our favorite front women!

Hayley Williams

Hayley Williams of Paramore has made music for over a decade now since starting out with Paramore’s 2005 debut album when she was just 17. Other than her powerful singing voice, Williams is known for having a wacky style and super bright orange hair. She’s definitely someone who doesn’t abide by what is on trend or wears “expensive” stuff just because its expensive and shows off her wealth, which we can all admire. Here she is seen on the red carpet celebrating the launch of her Nylon cover and wearing a sweet little heart necklace. This Stuller Diamond Heart Necklace is made with sterling silver and has pretty round diamonds in a pave setting and is almost identical to hers. Take inspiration from Hayley and be daring with your style!

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani has to be the number 1 rock goddess on this list because she has been making all the girls in the world want to toss their hair around and stand up for themselves since 1987. It is not widely known that Gwen Stefani wasn’t even the original singer for her band No Doubt. In fact, she was the back up singer to her good friend, John Spence who was the front man until he tragically took his own life when he was 18 years old. The band continued on with Stefani taking the lead and have become one of the most successful bands, winning two Grammy Awards, and accumulating fans internationally over their 30 year course thus far. Stefani in particular has been a symbol to women of being both feminine and masculine. Shes known for her off beat but super cool style and has a heavily identifiable mezzo-soprano voice that is both sweet and loud with a three octave range. Here she is performing at 2015’s New Orleans Jazz Music Festival wearing a gold band. This Tacori Champagne Sunset Bracelet is made with 18-karat yellow gold and round diamonds in a pave setting. It is a great similar piece that will perfectly wear on everyday or special occasions. Kick some butt like Gwen with this beauty!

Debbie Harry

Ah, Debbie Harry. She definitely knew exactly how to get what she wanted in the rock world dominated by men during the late 1970s with her innocent style, “I swear I’ll kick you in the face if I really wanted to” attitude, and her bottle blonde hair that inspired the name for her iconic band, Blondie. She was the beauty queen that intimidated and allured both men and women, and her voice that made the world swoon. Here in this playful photo of Harry wearing a captain’s hat and shooting a little squirt gun, she wears simple gold hoops. Harry wasn’t known much for her jewelry (which is understandable because she was on stage all the time throwing herself around. We’d be afraid to loose a piece of fine jewelry!) she was mostly known for her style and make up, but still, she kept her jewels simple and her music strong. These Pandora Hoop Post Earrings are made with sterling silver and perfectly match the pair she is seen wearing. If you don’t have a simple pair of hoops like Debbie, what are you doing with your life?

Courtney Love

As one of the most turbulent singers and dubbed the queen of alternative rock by the world, Courtney Love is incomparable in both her personal life  and music career as the front woman for Hole. It is amazing listening to Hole’s first album Pretty on the Inside and their 2010 album Nobody’s Daughter and clearly hearing the progressed sound and maturity but still maintaining the grunge sound. Her marriage to Grunge king of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain, was tumultuous but true and her engagement ring was as creative as her style. It was a halo ring around a ruby center stone on a gold band. This Simon G Passion engagement ring is made with 18-karat white gold, has round diamonds in a pave setting around a ruby center stone, and has a gorgeous vintage inspired design, which is very close design to Courtney’s. Although she’s wearing multiple rings around her engagement ring in the picture, the ruby center stone was a great representation of her husband and their life together. So tragic, but so beautiful.

Brittney Howard

Last but not least on this list is Alabama Shakes superstar, Brittany Howard. Ever since she and her band came onto the scene with their amazing song “Hold On” that was giving everyone 70s rock and roll vibes, we were excited to see what their future work was going to be like and they did not disappoint. Sound and Color has been on repeat since its release in 2015 and thankfully the Grammy’s recognized them for their incredible body of work and awarded them Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for their song “Don’t Wanna Fight No More” and Best Alternative Music Album. They even performed at the ceremony where Brittany wore large gold drop earrings and a beautiful white gown and cape. These Marco Bicego Africa Gold earrings are a drop earring style and are made with 18-karat yellow gold and are a wonderful similar pair. They are comfortable and cool just like Brittany!
