Love and Diamonds: A Look at the New Tacori Inflori Collection

June 19, 2019

Tacori has a special place in our heart here at Premiere Jewelry Designs, and we do our best to keep up with their newest looks. Well, today we’ve got a real treat for you in the realm of Tacori engagement rings.

History

Tacori’s released a new collection of engagement rings called the Inflori collection. As with the designer’s beloved Dantela line, Inflori is named for a Romanian word: “înflori”, or “to bloom”. And as with the Dantela collection, the Inflori line takes its craftsmanship from the co-founder of Tacori, Gilda Tacorian (née Balian), who was born and learned her craft in Romania.

New to the Inflori Line

Inflori engagement rings are typified by two ultra-unique features: First is the pairing of 18k yellow gold shanks with white gold heads. The second is the “creation” of a particular diamond shape by carefully packing the halo of the ring with a tremendous amount of pave-set diamonds surrounding a round-cut diamond.

Tacori has done something particularly genius with this collection. With the densely packed halo stones set in neutrally-colored white gold and contrasting with a yellow gold shank, the effect is that, on first glance, the entire halo looks like a tremendous diamond.

Without settling for the usual “circular” halo design, Tacori has designed its Inflori engagement rings with halos shaped like the marquise cut, pear cut, and oval cut. The plus of having the Inflora bloom take the place of a traditional large-carat marquise- or pear-cut diamond is that those two shapes have sharp, fragile points that can easily get snagged or break if they hit a solid surface. The metal used by Tacori for these ersatz diamonds is not going to crack or chip if it accidentally hits a wall!

Iconic Features

Additionally, Inflori collection engagement rings benefit from Tacori’s iconic cathedral setting, and when the ring is viewed on its side, one can observe the lacy, milgrain-beaded sparkle of the designer’s scrollwork along the entire underside of the “center stone”.

And of course, each Tacori engagement ring contains the company’s “hidden hearts” design, which is meant to evoke the top curves of a heart. In the case of the Inflori collection, these hidden hearts take the form of two wide, half-circle pavilions extending from the shank to support the head. The space between the half-circles and the rest of the band allows an extraordinary amount of light through, which illuminates the pave-set diamonds in the pavilions.

At the bottom-left side of the shank, an elegantly asymmetric “stamp” from the Tacori brand features a small diamond-studded half-circle carved into the ring. It’s the designer’s way of saying: Accept no substitutes!

And Tacori is right! Accept no substitutes for the brilliant new Inflori collection. If your local retailer or jewelry store carries Tacori engagement rings, stop by to inquire about Inflori rings.
